At DEVR, we design contemporary watches from Istanbul with an independent point of view.
WHERE IDEAS BEGIN.
The layers and culture of the city inevitably shape the way we see, but they do not decide what we can design. A watch may begin with architecture, engineering, music or history; sometimes a proportion, an unexpected colour, the feel of a material or a small functional need is enough.
We do not leave an idea where we found it. We distil it — a proportion, geometry, texture or character — and let it become part of something new.
The reference is only the beginning. The watch must stand on its own.
DESIGNED AS ONE OBJECT.
Case, dial, hands, typography and tactile details are developed together, so the watch reads as a coherent whole rather than a collection of separate gestures.
Materials, surface treatments and construction are considered within the same whole — for the depth, contrast and feel they bring, never as decoration for its own sake.
A strong concept is never allowed to compromise proportion, legibility or the way the watch feels on the wrist.
DESIGNED TO BE WORN.
A DEVR watch is not conceived simply as a design object. Proportion and detail matter, but so do legibility, comfort and reliability in everyday use.
Movement, material, construction and finishing are considered with the same care as the visible design. A watch should feel right on the wrist, fit naturally into daily life and deliver the reliability expected of it over time.
Design earns its place only when the watch works as a watch.
